Wedding Speeches ,

In a rush to get your speech together? Our “fill in the blanks” range of free wedding speeches have been going down like a storm. Here is an example of one that you can use – in this case for a Bride’s Speech.

Before we started to make wedding arrangements, I was unaware that the bride made a speech. Apparently it is a fairly new thing to do.

Firstly, I would like to thank my bridesmaids, you have all done a magnificent job, and have helped me a lot today. Secondly my parents, you have done more to help me than I can thank you for. But I’ll try. Thank you.

I don’t want to bore you all with a hundred thank-you messages, so finally I would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped me and my now husband in making today possible.

As a girl, I dreamed about the perfect wedding. A beautiful dress, a grand church with all my friends and family around me on a beautiful day, and obviously my Prince Charming. The one thing I never banked on is that it would become reality. I always thought that fantasies were dreams that never became reality. After today I know that that is not true.

(This is a good place to add the story of when you first met. Try to include your feelings, your first impressions of your now husband, and if there were any funny moments, maybe what he was wearing or a joke he told)

(Look at husband)

John, you have made me so happy since the day I met you; you have made my life so wonderful. Every day we are together you make me feel so special and when you asked me to marry you, I knew that I would be happy for the rest of my life. The way that you make me feel I cannot begin to explain, all I know is that it is the best feeling I have ever felt. So thank you. I just want you to know that I could not possibly be happier than I am when I am with you.

There isn’t much more for me to say than thank you to everybody who has helped today go so fantastically. Thank you.

  1. Of course, you could use a holiday theme for the speech, if the wedding date falls near one.

  24. I was impressed but my speech could have carried more weight if it had included or more of the following pointers.
The speaker should have first thank the audience for coming.
She should also have shared her sentiments on her special day.
She should have showered her own parents and new parents with words of appreciation
She could have even decide to give them some flowers or something else as a thank you gesture.
Her siblings(if she had any)could have been commended.
Though the approach varies per culture, this is what we do for people when we are writing their speeches.
