Hi!
I use FlashSpring for a long time and should say that this is a real good PowerPoint to Flash converter. Around a month ago I was glad to know that FlashSpring changed its name to iSpring and launched rebranded software iSpring Pro 3.1 which does support PowerPoint 2007 and is compatible with Vista! You may find it here now:

FlashSpring sounds good, but now we are in the digital age, we have come to expect more whizzier presentations. It may be a better solution to have an editable Flash 'powerpoint-style' product rather than imbedding bits of Flash in a powerpoint. Much less fiddly, and much more robust. PresentiaFX would do just that. http://www.presentiafx.com Hurrah!
