Images onto Powerpoint
Hi there,
I'm new to Powerpoint and completely clueless so very much appreciate your help. I am applying for postgraduate study at an art school. They require that I send in images of my work in a Powerpoint presentation (on a CD Rom) for them to view. I will not be present when they view them, so they need to operate it themselves. I do not want to create a self-running slideshow, as they need to be able to click through the images at their own pace, and move backwards and forwards as they wish. I feel that simplicity is key here. I will have less than ten images. I need one per 'page'. Beneath each image I need to put it's title etc - just one sentence. Obviously what is absolutely critical here is that the images must be as high quality as they can be, and as large on the page as possible. So I'd like as little visual clutter around them as possible in terms of the Powerpoint interface. The images are a mixture of TIFFs and JPEGs of varying sizes. If anyone can help me with the simplest way to do this, I'd be very grateful. Thank you for your time. C. |

Use digital photographs with high definition.
From tool bar: Format: Select slide lay-out, select full screen layout without text boxes for title and messages (lower right). Insert: picture from file, insert your picture. High definition often means a large picture, so you will need to reduce the size (do not change high definition). Click the picture. Drag boxes will appear at each corner and in middle of the picture. You may have to scroll sideways and up and down to find the boxes after clicking on the picture. Drag corner boxes only to reduce size. Picture will be distorted if you try to drag boxes in middle of sides and top/bottom. Normal pictures may extend slightly, but if the oversize leaves a slight background on the bottom of the slide, you can insert a text box for your title and info with a neutral or white background for the text box. At top right of the tool bars, there is a Help menu to answer detailed questions. Al Hodges El Cajon, CA USA |

Hi there,
Thank you, much appreciated. May I just check a couple of things: The images I'm using are all between 1.6 and 2.6 megbytes in size. They're TIFFS. The only slide layout I could find which most closely fitted your description was one called 'Large Picture'. My next question is probably stupid so forgive me but how do I then make a new page, for inserting the next image? What can I do to ensure that the panel are able to navigate their own way through these images without me being present? Thank you again. C. |
