Pixel size for PowerPoint backgrounds

I've knocked up a PowerPoint background in Photoshop, which I want to add to my presentation. I have the pixel size the same as my current screen res (1024 x 768)

Trouble is, it seems inevitable that the image will be stretched or lose sharpness depending on the screen it is used on. It is planned to be used over a long period and will be set up on various machines, each which will no doubt have different screen sizes.

Anything I can do about this, or am I stuck with it?

Cheers
Mark

mpnuttall,

In short aim for the best resolution that the end user will use.

e.g. if the max resolution is likely to be 1280x960 then go for that resolution.

Powerpoint will automatically smooth the image for this resolution and anything smaller.

Cheers
