Mix and Match ???

I have never used PP before and I'm in the planning stages of a high school reunion program that will incorporate a lot of old photos. I downloaded a couple of the free PP templates that are offered here and I was wondering if some of those individual panels could be mixed and match. For example, a panel to cover Christmas, one for football,etc. I realize it wouldn't be practical to pull a panel out of an animation because the animation would not function. No doubt, I'll have more questions on this project and welcome any help I can get. Thanks much.
