Need help with music and transition
When playing back my slide presentation with music I am experiencing a problem. Each time a different slide shows the music starts and stops between each slide and the song doesn't get played all the way through. Only the first three bars are playing. Please tell me how to correct this problem. Thanks.

How do you have music play throughout your whole PowerPoint?
PowerPoint presentations can be designed to advance manually. Sometimes, when you complete your presentations, you may also need to automate them and set up the exact time duration for each slide and so that they can run by themselves. How do you have music play throughout your whole PowerPoint?
First download the song(s) in mp3 or WAV format that can be accepted by power point. There are three ways for you to choose. Secondly insert your music in powerpoint presentation and set up the effect. PowerPoint 03: You should be able to right click on the icon in your presentation and select "Custom Animation." There will be a section for "Effect" with the option to stop playing after X slides. Set the number of slides for the sound to play here. Now when you select OK and exit the custom animation box, your sound will continue to play. PowerPoint 07: right click animations tab then click the custom animation, you can see a pop-up window displayed then left click the sound file that you want to set, Click the drop down arrow of the music item you just added from the Custom Animation list and select Effect Options. A window named Play Sound displays. Select After and then set the total number of slides .Now when you select OK and exit the custom animation box, your sound will continue to play. |

Sounds like you may have set a transition sound and then used APPLY TO ALL? In this case the sound will restart with every transition.
Set the transition to NO SOUND >Apply to all to remove sounds and then set the sound required to the first transition only (Don't click Apply to All)

Play a Sound across Multiple Slides in PowerPoint 2003/2007
Situation 1 Suppose you are using PowerPoint 2003
To make a sound continue through multiple or all slides, follow these steps: 1. Go to the slide where you want to begin your audio track (defaulted as the first slide), and select Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> Sound from File to insert the sound. 2. After you click OK, you can see a message pop up asking how you want the sound to start in slide shows. Click Automatically. 3. Select Slide Show ->Custom Animation to enter the Custom Animation pane. Your soundtrack is listed below in the pane. 4. In the drop-down list of the sound, choose Effect Options. Then the Play Sound interface appears. In the Effect tab, click the radio button beside Stop Playing After *** slides (which indicates how many slides you want this song to play across) to enter the number of slides you intend to add. For example, you can enter a number from 1 to 999 for this field. Then the sound will play throughout the specified slides. 5. play sound across slides in powerpoint 2003 play sound across slides in powerpoint 2003 Next, check the settings in the Timing tab. To play automatically, you can set to Start After Previous with a 0-second delay. Click OK to exit the dialog box. 6. Then go to Sound Settings tab, adjust the sound volume as you like. You can also tick to hide sound icon during slideshow if you don't want it appear. Now you can play the soundtrack from the very beginning to the end of your slideshow. Situation 2 Suppose you are using PowerPoint 2007 It is much easier to make a continuous sound since the latest 2007 version is more comprehensive. Now do as follows: 1. On the slide, click Insert to pick the Sound drop-down list on the very right below the tab. Select Sound from File in the list and choose the specified sound track from your hard drive. 2. Click OK and a message prompts, saying How do you want the sound to start in the slide show? Click Automatically. 3. Now click the sound icon to display the Options tab. Click on the tab, and set Play across slides for Play Sound. At the moment, it is time for you to play the entire slide show while enjoying this pleasant sound score. NOTE: * The sound you insert must be as long as your slideshow. That is, if the slideshow lasts 5 minutes, your soundtrack should also be at that length. Otherwise, the sound would be cut off until the slideshow ends. * It is highly recommend that you take PowerPoint 2007 for your convenience. |
