Unable to insert videos in PPT 2007
Greetings,
I am tryin to insert MPEG and WMV videos into a PPT presentation being prepared on 2007, using XP. Whether I drag and drop a video file or use the Insert command, when I atempt to play the video, I get a blank. I know this should work as I have seen it done. Is there something really obvious that I am missing? Thank you! |

It is really very simple. Create a new page, select the layout on the picture (in Home > Layout), click on the movie reel symbol and navigate to your video file, double click on that and you are done.

It's not really simple.
Two things to be aware of in particular: You (or others) must have the correct video codec The path to the video should be fairly short. One way to be fairly sure about the codec is to run your vid through Windows Media Encoder to convert to a standard codec WMV Make sure my video plays in PowerPoint

You are right John. Forgot that part. All my movies are .wmv, that's why I never pay attention to it. A conversion can also be done with WMM provided you have the input codecs for WMM. You should, however, watch what WMM is doing. It can ruin your quality if you don't set it to the right quality level.

The way can really solve your Problem
1.Convert the Youtube video to avi format with
Leawo Free AVI Converter (which can be found at Leawo Free AVI Converter- AVI Video Converter to convert video to AVI) 2.insert the avi video into PowerPoint Step 1: On the Insert tab, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Movie from File. Step 2: Click the video you want to use and then click OK. Step 3: After you click OK, you' are promoted with a message asking how you want the movie to start in the slide show. I recommend you choosing "Automatically "even if you want the movie to play when clicked. And that's done. Tips: 1. This is the easiest way to insert a video. 2. When playing the video that is inserted in this way in the PowerPoint, it only shows the video picture, and only has two control options: play or stop. So you can't select the playing time freely 3. Only video in formats of AVI, MPEG and WMV can be inserted in this way 4. Always put the movie in the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation. If you later move the PowerPoint presentation to another computer, copy the movie too. Keeping your movie in the same folder as your presentation ensures the link will still work. However, you should always test the movie on a new machine just to be certain. Re-insert the movie, if necessary. Hopefully my answer will give you some help. |
