Group Activities Scenario and Interview Presentation
Hi Doc,
I'm a newly graduate in the field of IT. I am very passionate about selling and was invited for an interview for a Trainee Sales Executive position. This will be a whole day interview. Please help master the 2 key important areas. 1. How do I conduct myself during the group session evaluation scenario where we will be given a task as a group. Do I become a "loud-mouth" hyper-active lad who is all over the group, or do I become the "behind the scene" think tanker who always strategisies and give inputs after all has been said. Help! 2. Interview Presentation - How do I prepare and what do I include i my presentation; the choice of illustration graphics or pics, the wording, and preparing for any topic that might be give on the day. Help! Nervous, Mckenzie

Gentlemanly behaviour wins the day
No joke, group interviews are a bugger to deal with. You're right in the assumption that there will be a) loudmouth idiots who get everything they want by being loud and occasionally by being an idiot. b) quiet think-tankers who drum away in the background and come up with solutions.
Unfortunately, the best person to be is a bit of both. Someone who thinks and presents ideas as well as listening to the other members of the group. Of course the downside of being this person is that you have to deal with the loudmouth moron who is going purple in the face because you said "No, I think the others are right, but thank you for your contribution" without actually seeming to be aggressive. |
