Can someone help me?

My beautiful daughter died last Friday, very suddenly, and all of us are devastated.
She was thirty one and newly married, and was the most lovely, kindest girl in the world. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
If I am able I want to read something at her funeral but as she and I are not really religious I need something appropriate.

firstly i just want to say how deeply sorry i am to hear about your daughter, even though i am only 22, i have lost 5 people that were very close and dear to me, and throughout it all, i have collected a number of poems that i would like to share with you , as like you i am not very religious but i just feel these poems say alot... i hope you will find some comfort in them........

a letter from heaven.....

To my dearest family, somethings id like to say,
but first of all to let you know, i arrived ok.
i am writting this from heaven, where i dwell with god above,
where there is no more tears or sadness, just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy, just because im out of sight, remember that im with you, every morning, noon, and night.

That day i had to leave you, when life on earth is through, God picked me up and hugged me, and said "i welcome you, its good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone,as for your dearest family, they'll be here later on"
i need you here so badly, as part of my big plan, there's so much we have to do to help our mortal man.

Then god gave me a list of things, he wished for me to do,
and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you.
and i will be beside you,
everyday, week, and year
and when your sad i am standing there to wipe away the tears.
And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight,
God and i are closer to you in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life and all those living years,
because your only human, there bounf to bring you tears,
but do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain, remember there would be no flowers unless there were some rain.

i wish i could tell you that all that god had planned, but if i were to tell you, you wouldnt understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is no more,
i am closer to you now, than i ever was before.
and to my many friends, trust god knows what is best, i'm still not very far from you, im just beyond the crest.

There are rocky roads ahead of us, and many hills to climb,
but together we can do it, taking one step at a time.
it was always my philosophy and i would like it for you to, that as you give unto the world so the world will give to you, if you help someone, who is in sorrow or pain, then you can say at night "my day was not in vain"

and now i am contented that my life was worthwhile,
knowing that as i passed along the way i made somebody smile.
so if you met someone who is down or feeling low, just lend them a hand to pick them up as on your way you go.

Whe you are walking down the street, and have got me on your mind, i wam waliking in your footsteps, only half a step behind,
and when you feel a gentle breeze or the wind upon your face,
thats me giving you a great big hug, or just a soft embrace.
and when its time for you to go from that body to be free,
remember your not going, your coming to me,
and i will always be with you from that land way up above..........

i do not need a special day,
to bring you to my mind
The days i do not think of you
are very hard to find.

Each moment when i awake,
and i know that you are gone,
and no-one knows the heartache,
as i try and carry on,

My heart still aches in sadness,
and secret tears still flow,
what it meant to lose you
no-one will ever know

My thoughts are always with you
your place, no-one can fill
in life i loved you dearly
in death i love you still.

there will always be a heartache
and often a silent tear,
but precious memories of the days when you were near

If tears could build a stairway
and memories a lane,
i'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back to stay
i'll hold you close within my heart,
and there you will remain,
to walk with me througout my life,
untill we meet again

Please dont mourn for me,
im still here, though you dont see.
im right by your side
each day and night
and within your heart i long to stay.

my body is gone
but i am always near
im everything you feel, see and hearmy spirit is free but ill nevr depart,
as long as you keep me alive in your heart,

ill never wonder out of sight,
im the brightest star on a summer night,
ill never be beyond your reach
im the warm moist sand
when your at the beach,
im the colourful leaves
when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground
im the beautiful flowers of which you are so fond,
the clear cool water in a quiet pond,
im the first bright blossom you'll seee in the spring,
the first warm raindrop, april will bring.

im the first ray of light
when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll se the face in the moon is mine.
im the hot salty tears that flow when you sleep,
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.

i'll lend you a little child of mine, he said
for you to love while she lives, and mourn for when she is dead,
it maybe six or seven years, or 22 or 3
but will you till i call her back take care of her for me?

she'll bring you her charms and should her stay be brief,
you'll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.
i cannot promise she will stay,
for all from earth return,
but there are lessons taught down there,
that i want this child to learn.

ive looked this world wide over, in my search for teachers true,
and from the throngs that crowd lifes lanes, i have selected you.

Now will you gove her all your love?
not think the labour in vain.
nor hate me when i come to call and take her back again.
but should the angels call for her, much sooner than we planned,
be brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.

From where i sit, i shed a tear,
wishing somehow that you were near.

so i close my eyes and think of you,
and in just one moment, you step into view.
Now your nor not here to touch,
my memories are precious
and mean so much.

i have no doubt that you are safe, for you have moved to a brighter place.
you'll be welcomed with open arms, and all around will be a loving calm.
there is even a seat reserved for you,
Reward for the life you gave, and the life you knew,
i know someday ill see you again,
i think of you often, rest untill then...............
