My Aunt has not long left
Hi there, My Auntie does not have long left and is dying from cancer,she has asked me to give a speech at her funeral and i'm needing help to this. she has been quite a mother figure to me and when I ran away from home once I went straight to her who made me sense and return home. Please Help. Thank you

Start with a small poem and then go on to tell a small story about you and her and then go on to talk about what she ment to you. Try to keep it positive.

You don't say whether your Mother is still alive. If she is, the following may not be suitable.
I would speak about a Mother's love. How a Mother cares and protects those she loves. I would then say that, although she is not your Mother, your Aunt displayed all the Motherly attributes you could ask for. She Mothered you when you most needed it. If your Mother is still alive, you could say something similar, but add the fact that you were blessed by having had two Mothers. A biological one (your Mum) and an emotional one (your Aunt). Both of whome showed Motherly love and care. Hope this helps. |
