Help me please
My step-father of 34 years passed away last night from a very rare form of cancer after a long hard fight for many months.
Part of the "funeral package" of course is a laminated bookmark with his obit on one side, and a poem on the other. My "dad" was unique and I am hoping to find a poem that fits his personality. To give you some background, he had suffered with severe burns since he was 6 years old. He often wondered how he didn't die then. He underwent many surgeries, skin grafts, etc., etc., all of his life along with colon cancer, and other things over the years. Due to the scarring from burns and grafting, he was a "homebody". He loved his yard, the flowers, gardening, etc. I guess as a kid, he felt stared at, was probably teased, etc. so he liked to stay home. He didn't go out much but had the most wonderful sense of humor and a fight to live in him like no other. I'm looking for something personalized to include his life for the love and work in a yard, his love for carpentry which wasn't his living, but something he just loved to do, he always made sure that the birds and squireels were fed and his love for animals was unsurpassable. I'd like the poem to be uplifting about his leaving us, but written plainly as he was a very plain man. I have to have this poem to the funeral home by Friday morning. Hope there's some late nighters out there!!! PLEASE help me! Thank you! |

Your step-father
Sounds a wonderful man, who lived a full and happy life as an ***** despite his burns.
You were lucky to have known him. Hope someone can write a fitting tribute. God bless you. |
